Pop Only Knows was begun because nowadays, only the groups or artists signed by a record label or a distributor will ever see their albums reach a wider audience through the major outlets (FNAC, in France, or Virgin, Amazon, iTunes...). But many self-produced artists are out there : gigging, with a large audience base, getting on independent radio stations...
The aim of Pop Only Knows is to create an internet distribution platform for artists like them.
This platform has a different concept from those that exist already :
We don't want millions of sef-produced groups on the site, in some kind of database. In fact, we don't believe it's possible for a self-produced group to make their work known on that kind of site, lost in the crowd.
Our job here is to focus on a limited number of groups & to offer a vehicle to showcase their work and make it available to new listeners.
