In May 2008, My Lady's House, a band from Besançon in the east of France, shut themselves away in a studio in the countryside and recorded over a fews days their self-produced debut record, the aptly named ep #1.
Their intimist, melodramatic folksongs follow in the anglo-saxon tradition, reminiscent of Neil Young, Damien Jurado or Bob Dylan. From time to time joined onstage by a rhythm section and backup singers, the group got themselves noticed on the grassroots scene as well as in the press and via internet. The influential French webzine Indiepoprock.net hailed them as "folk with luminous melodies, as warm and comfortable as an open fire in winter." Send this page to a friend |
