Nowadays, you have the choice. You can force yourself to dance to Wham & Rick Astley one more time at the superclub with the 3000 parking spaces, Saturday night fever, oh what a night. Hot stuff.
Ooooor you could let yourself go with the new princes of the dancefloor (Metronomy, Justice or LCD Soundsystem), and lose yourself in some real songs, with unique, addictive rhythms & riffs. KiT clearly belong to this second category, for our listening pleasure.
KiT were born in 2005 when Quentin, the guitarist, met Audrey (keyboards & vocals). They were joined by Fred on synths & Matthieu on drums, and the group set out to conquer the world.
Their EPs are indeed real weapons of mass destruction with incredible tunes, carried by beats that'll make you dizzy, bubble-gum choruses that embed themselves in your brain, and wicked class.
KiT's references stand out a little from the classics of the French Touch . They namecheck Vitalic and Broadcast, Aphex Twin & Blonde Redhead. So their music is multiple, sometimes poppy, sometimes refined (like the beautiful Heartshape on the Glitch In The Game EP), and sometimes completely nuts (the earth-shattering remix of You Dance Like A 8bit- Coward by Myoko).
Listening to KiT is a free pass for the rollercoaster ride, clapping your hands when the car speeds up, catching your breath when the tempo slows down a little just before the final loop the loop and the crazy scream you let out right at the end.
