In ancient Greek, Andy Adyn is pronounced hen dia dyoin and means "one through two": an imaginary third person representing the unity of a pair.
Formed in November 2005 by two guitarist friends, Théo & JB, the group Andy Adyn began to put together their melodic pop rock and their very personal lyrics.
Hidden behind the third character that Andy Adyn has become, Théo & JB have woven a sensitive & original universe of their own.
In 2007, the group really took off with the arrival of Ben on drums & Benedicte on bass: their musical alchemical strength was increased tenfold...
We don't use the word "alchemy" idly. It might just be that Andy Adyn have stumbled upon the rock philosopher's stone that'll turn rock lead into rock gold.
You only have to listen to the staggering So Silent or O My or the overwhelming Opium from their first album to realise it.
Andy Adyn: if Will Oldham were to jam with Sonic Youth, or Lou Reed were to go over to Nick Drake's to play... And they're definitely one of the events of this autumn.
