It's surprising quite how many cities are built on seven hills, the world over: Rome & Istanbul of course, but also Jerusalem, Lisbon & Yaounde...
In each case, ancient texts decree that whosoever shall conquer the seven hills shall receive the keys to the city...
a 7 hills experience, a group formed by Aurélien (guitars), Marty (2nd guitars) and Alexandre (vocals), have decided to set off in conquest of all of those cities and by dint of that, the seven hills of rock.
Nothing less than that !
Created in 2006, the group filled out fast with Pierre on bass & Nicolas at the drums.
a 7 hills experience's major selling point is Alexandre's voice.
Fragile on the first listen, it can also grow to a vortex like on their incandescent Kings & Kings, on their first mini-lp. Aurélien's spellbinding pop-rock mantras allow this most original of voices to shine out.
And so the seven hills of rock ?
They tear up & down them like a Lance Armstrong : folk à la Herman Düne, rock, pop, krautrock and repetitive riffs à la Can, dreamlike, intimist & hard-hitting.
