The 16pac adventure began in 2001 when François Puech decided to take a year out & record a solo album under his own steam. He met Emma Laporte who was singing in her own band, and suggested she sing backup vocals on his album.
The experiment having been a great success, they decided to prolong their collaboration & record a few tracks a little more electro in tone. And so the first three tracks of My Heart Is Full Of Music were born: it was to be selected the very next year for the first CQFD compilation from Les Inrockuptibles.
Fresh from this early triumph, they completed an 8-track CD, hailed by the webzines, and roped in Vincent Soleil to play bass for their first Paris gigs. The threesome then threw themselves into the creation of their second album, Endless Work In Progress, which came out in 2006. From their electro-pop beginnings, their new tracks began to explore new terrain, wider & more varied like electro-folk, and post-rock. The album was again extremely well-received, and the band embarked on dozens of concerts in Paris and all over France. They were also chosen for the Nouveaux Talents FnacMusic compilation in 2007.

Today marks the release of their third album, Down Under the Elevator, and the band have managed to effectively synthesize their many & varied influences (Björk, Portishead, Radiohead & Neil Young), exploring trip-hop & the sort of minimalist electro so dear to German & Austrian musicians.
